I didn’t know I was dating a hunter whose hobby would evolve into an obsession. He was in his 3rd year of college when I met him. He liked to eat, sleep and go to the gym. He had been a hunter from the time he could hold a slingshot. His patience was beyond measure. His mother said he would lay in the kitchen floor for hours waiting for a mouse to poke its head out so he could shoot it. He thought the best part of Christmas was the anticipation of waiting. I personally don’t have that kind of patience and still don’t understand why anyone would want to wait like that. It was a skill honed over a lifetime. I appreciate it now on the other end of thirty years. His patience has rewarded us all. We have had meat in our freezer and a roof over our heads for many years. We are doing well and our only complaint is abundance. I am going to share our Journey of Food Deer Love because I am a very proud woman that wants to show her daughter and the world that patience and hard work pays off. We are blessed.
